Francisco Javier Seguí García comes from La Vall de Laguar, a small inland village in the Marina Alta region in the north of Alicante. A beautiful valley overlooking the sea – a place that is undoubtedly a part of who he is.

He has always been curious about painting. Three years ago he enrolled in art classes and has hardly stopped since. Little by little he discovered that painting made him happy, allowed him to express himself and helped him disconnect from everything else.

Style and signature

He still finds it difficult to give his style a name. He likes long, energetic brushstrokes full of movement and, above all, enjoys working with very vivid colours. His paintings are meant to be powerful and full of joy.

Themes

Spain is very present in the way he experiences art. He is hugely attracted to bullfighting – or, as he calls it, “tauromagic” – and he also has a great fascination with animals. These themes allow him to play with colour and expressiveness: bulls, horses and lions as well as portraits.
